Vegan Oaxacan Mole
We are very excited about this handmade, artisan Oaxacan Mole for many reasons: first, it is 100% artisan, made by hand to a family recipe. It owes its name to the woman who created the recipe, señora Nabora, in the state of Oaxaca in Mexico. It is gluten free, which is great news as most commercially available moles have gluten in them; it is also vegan friendly, GMO free and made only with organic ingredients. It really ticks all the boxes, but what is even more amazing, it is the fact that it actually tastes pretty awesome too!
On a practical note, this is a super concentrated mixture of ingredients, which makes it quite bitter; the pack has a tiny little triangle of Mexican chocolate wrapped inside (make sure you take the wrapping out!), but it is still quite strong, so I added a tablet of Mexican chocolate as well as 2 to 3 fresh tomatoes pureed in the blender or food processor to make it tastier and more palatable if you're not used to moles.
We're very proud of introducing it to Ireland for you. If you are not vegan, you can still use it, by adding chicken or turkey stock. The powder is pretty versatile and incredibly delicious! It comes in a resealable pouch, however, this 60 gram presentation, is handy enough for a family meal (remember this as it is very concentrated!). All the instructions to make it are on the pack, but don't ignore my recommendations to pimp it up from above!
