Guayabas in Syrup
Guayabas, or 'Guavas' as they're also known, are a delicious fruit from the same family of the pears. It's small, round and soft and it's full of hard edible pips. It is incredibly fragrant with a hint of lemon flavour to them. These guayabas are tinned whole and come in their own syrup, which makes them perfect for desserts.
They are delicious and full of vitamin C. Mexicans eat them fresh a lot as they're a native fruit of Mexico, although they grow now in many tropical places. I love them served on a plate with a scoop of good quality Greek yogurt and some pumpkin sees, they are incredibly good! Go on, give them a try!
